Painting Highlights

From the Anti-philosophy series, Bomb & Butterfly challenges us to create meaning and explanations sourced from our own desires, fears and experiences.

The image of the Bomb is taken from the Hollywood Silver Screen era of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton movies. It’s a prop but all too real as Harold Loyed found when one of them exploded in his hand on set. Butterflies in my work represent a temporary beauty that represents a kind of fragility and mortality that is very near.
