A lime-green child's bicycle on a flat sunset, yellow dropping into orange and red. High-rise handlebars, a blue banana seat and chrome mudguards sit in thick black outlines — a first bike held as a symbol of play.
Notes from the artist
The first bike is a small machine for a large feeling: balance, speed, and the first stretch of going somewhere on your own. Painted like a toy, with the colour turned up until the ground is nothing but a gradient.
